Hanoi Guest House Royal
ddd After an exhausting days travel, we arrived with trepidation at Hotel ‘Hanoi Guest House Royal,’ which was set in Hanoi’s old quarter, absolutely heaving with traffic! However, the serene tranquility of the hotel, coupled with a beautiful decor and attentive staff was bliss. Katie, the duty manager met us with a beaming smile and lovely rapport and provided us with refreshments of apple juice, bananas, rice cakes and cold cloths. She then showed us several of their bedrooms for us to choose from (with a kind complimentary upgrade to the rooms at the top of their building on the 6th and 7th floor.)
Nothing was spared in our bedrooms, with a television, aircon, fridge, tea making facilities, snacks, a mini bar and even cotton buds, and a sewing kit.
The location of the hotel is in a very convenient place, within minutes of the water puppet show and many popular restaurants right on the door step. Due to it being a Saturday, and it being smack bang in the middle of the city, there was a slight disturbance of noise from the street below of horns honking and music, but the distant music abated by 11pm and the remainder of the night was much quieter.
In the morning at 6:15am our pre selected packed breakfasts were ready and we bid the staff farewell . This place was a quick stop for us as travel plans only allowed us to stay for one night, but we had a very comfortable and looked after stay at this elegant, cosy hotel.
